1. Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide our service:
- Email address (for verification and delivery)
- Payment information (processed by Stripe)
- Selected map area coordinates
- Generation options
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to:
- Verify your email address
- Process your payment
- Generate your Minecraft world
- Send you the download link
3. Data Retention
Generated worlds are automatically deleted after 7 days. Payment records are retained as required by law.
4. Third Parties
We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe — Payment processing and Merchant of Record. Your purchase is sold through Link, LLC (a Stripe company), which acts as the merchant/seller of record and is responsible for charging you, collecting and remitting any applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax), and handling refunds and payment disputes. Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe/Link and never stored on our servers. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Resend — Transactional email delivery. Your email address is shared with Resend solely to deliver your download notification. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — Map tiles and geodata used for area selection and world generation. When you use the location search, your typed query and IP address are sent directly from your browser to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim geocoding service. See OSM's Privacy Policy.
5. Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data

6. Regional Availability
MapSmith is available to visitors worldwide, with the exception of a small number of countries that our payment provider's Merchant-of-Record service does not support (currently China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Kosovo, Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha). When you load the generator page, your IP address is compared against a list of IP ranges for these countries that we host locally on our own server (the underlying allocations are sourced from the public Regional Internet Registries via ipdeny.com). The lookup happens in memory for the duration of a single HTTP request; your IP address is not stored, written to any log, or transmitted to any third party for this purpose. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in complying with the eligibility requirements of our payment provider.
